Play for the pot
The last putt means a lot more with a sweep on it. Treád shows what you're in for before you commit, what each place pays as the scores come in, and who pays whom at the end. Here's the round with a pot: before, during and after.
Treád works out who pays whom. It never collects, holds or pays money: you settle between yourselves.
1. Before the round
An event with a pot puts the amount on the button that commits you. On a round open to the flock it's Join this round, such as Join this round · in for €9; on an event you ask to play in, Ask to play with in for and the amount. The line above it says what the amount is made of — pot €5 + 2 Bragging Rights at €2, settled between players after. One stake covers the pot and every bragging right. A button with no amount on it puts you in for nothing.
Where players opt in, tick I'm in for above the button. Ticked, the button carries the amount; left unticked, you play without the pot. The line beneath always ends settled between players after.
Where the pot comes with playing, an organiser can put you in the event, or turn the pot on after you joined. Then the first thing on the event's Clubhouse tells you, You've been added to this event or This event now has a pot, and your Play button reads Pot in amber until you press Got it. If that's not right: on a round open to the flock, press ⋯ for the More menu and choose Leave before your first score, and you owe nothing. On an event the organiser put you in, ask an admin to take you out of the event; out before your first score, you owe nothing.
Where players opt in, you're in the pot only if you put yourself in, however you came to be in the event, whether you joined or an organiser added you. Until your first score, the event's Clubhouse has one line for it: The pot and Put me in with the amount on it — or, once you're in, In the pot and Take me out. Press The pot (or In the pot) for what the stake is made of. The same line sits above your group when you start scoring. Once you've scored a hole, you stay as you are for this round.
On a roaming round, The pot sits inside the card for setting up your round, before you set up and after, until your first score. When you set up, I'm in for sits with your course and handicap: tick or untick it, then confirm.
Choose Event Guide in the Clubhouse picker to read The pot: how many are in, what each place and each bragging right pays at today's field — It grows as players join. If an organiser switches your stake off, it reads Your stake has been switched off: you owe nothing and win nothing from the pot.
2. During the round
Open the Leaderboard and press Pot, beside Standings. It is the same board, with the score column replaced by Pot: what each place pays as the scores stand, moving as they come in. A player outside the pot reads not in. Beneath the board, Bragging Rights have their own view opens the side contests.
3. After the round
Once the organiser completes the event, one line under the trophy cards on the Story says where you stand: You pay a player an amount, You're owed an amount, You're square, or You weren't in the pot. Press it for Settle up.
Settle up is also in the Clubhouse picker. Your line comes first. If you're owed, it shows what you won less your stake, then Paid by: who pays you and how much. If you pay, it shows what your stake was made of. Who won lists every place and bragging right that paid.
Who pays whom lists the payments, as few as possible: you may pay someone you didn't lose to, because Treád nets everything into the fewest payments. The amounts are exact shares of the pot, so round them between yourselves as you like. If every stake came back, it reads Nobody pays anybody: every stake came back.
The Pot on the Leaderboard then shows what each player won. A player in the money in two competitions takes the better prize — their row says took and which — and the next player moved up. If the event is reopened, settle up reads Settle up isn't ready: the event has been reopened. until it is completed again. A spectator's line reads The pot · who won and opens the Pot view; who pays whom is for the players.
